Senate to Hear Package of IDD Provider Reform Bills

The New Jersey Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee will hear a package of bills this month aimed at stabilising the providers who serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The bills address wage parity for direct support professionals, the timeliness of Medicaid reimbursement and the licensing backlog that has left new programmes waiting months to open.

Autism New Jersey will testify in support. Our public policy team has met with sponsors from both parties and submitted written comments on each bill, drawing on what families tell the Helpline about waiting lists and staff turnover.
